Description:
Ajilon
Communications is seeking experienced Cable Splicers to work on a
long-term copper cable splicing project in California on behalf of our
client, one of America’s largest suppliers of communications products
and services.
Successful candidates
will be expected to provide their own tools; provision of your own work
vehicle (truck or van with ladder mounts) is preferable.
You must also be able
to provide a valid passport, education documents, detailed resume, etc.
in accordance with the requirements for a work permit. Upon arrival in
the U.S., you will be required to complete drug testing in accordance
with U.S. law.
Successful candidates
will also have a valid driver’s license (learner’s permits are not
acceptable) with a clean driving record.

Administrative functions –track and submit status of job; accurately
record and submit time and expense reports

any provided work vehicle, tools or equipment
Qualifications:
"Must
Have":
-
Experience in
splicing copper cable – buried and aerial; experience with underground
cable is a definite asset; able to use cable splicing tools
-
Must have own
tools; it is preferred that candidates have their own work vehicle
(must be a truck or van with ladder mounts)

Legally entitled
to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, landed immigrant) or in the US
(US citizen, landed immigrant)
-
Must possess a
valid driver’s license with clean driving record – no more than 4
demerit points (recent abstract must be provided)- G1 licenses are not
acceptable

Must be able to
provide a criminal background check in accordance with any work permit
requirements

Able to handle
physical aspects of position – bending, standing, climbing, lifting
-
Able to work
outside in varying weather conditions
-
Able to climb
ladders/pole and work at elevated heights
-
Able to work in
confined spaces; manhole experience is a definite asset
-
Must possess
normal colour vision (due to the use of colour-coded wires)

Able to work with
little or no direct supervision .
