The company passed a series of rigorous procedural steps and went beyond compliance to be certified by the latest international standards for quality in the telecommunications services area. The certification became effective October 6, 2004. “We’re pleased to receive this distinction because it reflects the professionalism of our employees and the effort they demonstrate every day to provide the highest quality service,” said Dan Sims, president of Ajilon Communications with offices throughout North America. “Our commitment to excellence is evident in how hard everyone worked to exceed the levels for compliance and achieve certification to TL 9000 specifications in the telecommunications services area.” The certification process to TL 9000-V R3.0/R3.5 specifications is usually years in the making and requires the input of company associates from a variety of departments to assure unified standard applications. Michael Morris, quality/recruiting manager for Ajilon Communication, coordinated the internal and external effort for the company. TL 9000 is the quality management system that was developed by the QuEST Forum (The Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications Leadership) to standardize performance and cost-based metrics in the telecommunications industry. According to the QuEST Forum web site, TL 9000 is the telecommunications industry’s extension to ISO 9000. Started in 1997, certification in this industry category guarantees achievement of uniform performance standards in the areas of design, development, production, delivery, installation and maintenance of telecommunication products and services. “This is especially important in today’s global service environment,” said Sims. ISO 9000 is a set of standards for quality management systems that is accepted around the world. The standards are set and maintained by the International Organization for Standardization, a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from about 100 countries. ISO is a non-governmental organization established in 1947 to promote the development of standardization so that the international exchange of goods and services would be facilitated in cooperation with the spheres of intellectual, scientific and technological and economic activity.
